Nokia N78 Passes FCC Review

The Nokia N78 passed FCC review on 3/12/2008. You can see the publicly accessible documents (in PDF form) on the FCC’s web site by visiting this link.

Among the included documents above:

  • Request for Confidentiality: Nokia doesn’t want Uncle Sam to share their trade secrets with the world.
  • External Photos: Quality isn’t the greatest, but it’s definitely the same N78 we’ve seen before.
  • FCC ID Label: Location and content of the FCC ID Label in the Nokia N78.
  • Internal Photos: The guts of the N78. Shows how the N78 is put together.
  • SAR/SAR2: Detailed testing results of the Nokia N78.
  • Test Report 1-4: FCC Test results for the Nokia N78.
  • Nokia N78 User Manual: An early draft of the Nokia N78 User Manual available free - and the phone hasn’t even hit the US market yet (titled “Nokia N78 User Guide“).

If you’ve never reviewed the FCC Test Report docs before, check them one out. Talk about detail.

While the Nokia N78 is not yet available for purchase in the United States (and it doesn’t look like the Nokia N78 will hit store shelves during the month of April as originally anticipated), the successful passing of the FCC review means we are getting closer and closer to the date of an official US launch of the Nokia N78 on retail shelves.

Once that happens, you’ll be able to find out how to get your hands on your own Nokia N78!
